Project Manager - Summary -

Manage all aspects of projects throughout the project lifecycle, including project scope, schedule, performance, communications, risk, resources, quality, costs and change management. The position is focused on projects for NEC Products (PBX, Peripherals, UCaas, and CCaas) system implementations, network applications.  

 

Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all assigned projects.  This involves responsibility for project profitability, schedule, and customer relationship management. This individual is a key liaison to the client with regards to day‐to‐day management of the project plan and its progress for client implementations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • 70%  Manage projects throughout the project lifecycle
    • Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects for customers in addition to managing one of our largest Strategic Customer
    • Review project scope/statement of work / deliverables / time frames and implement as per procedures in accordance with our project management processes to ensure profitable and successful execution of customer project as measured by the Direct Division goals and customer satisfaction
    • Develop Project Plan / Timeline and Test and Cutover plan as per project scope/statement of work (SOW ) deliverables and time frames
    • Maintain Project Workbook
    • Schedule and conduct project internal and external kick off meetings
    • Responsible to plan, coordinate, and chair project status meetings. Document project activities and status meetings with NEC, supplier, subcontractor, or customer
    • Prepare and present written change orders for customer signature and process as required
    • Coordinates with field operations and engineering management to schedule/manage resources assigned to project
    • Identify and provision NEC and subcontractor personnel and supplier material as required
    • Communicate project parameters and coordinate activities with all team members, departments and with appropriate management to ensure completion. This includes communications with all levels of management and non-management, both internal and external
    • Prepare and safeguard project documentation including project plans and budgets, correspondence, meeting minutes, status reports and project deliverables
    • Manage all subcontractor activity
    • Manage scope and mitigate risk on assigned projects
    • Manage escalations by customer or project resources to resolution
    • Primary interface to customer through face-to-face meetings and periodic status reports
    • Responsible to plan, coordinate, and chair project status meetings. Document project activities and status meetings with NEC, supplier, subcontractor, or customer
    • Prepare and present written change orders for customer signature and process as required
    • Provide required notice and documentation for customer completion approval signature after cutover to establish warranty and maintenance support from all parties at the conclusion of the project
    • Prepare and safeguard project documentation including project plans and budgets, correspondence, meeting minutes, status reports and project deliverables
    • Manage all subcontractor activity
    • Obtain quotations from and manage service delivery by subcontractors
    • Manages all Material requirements/shipment with PMO and purchasing
    • Manages to and achieves revenue goals set for projects
    • Analyzes profitability, revenue, margins, and utilization for assigned projects
    • Maintain project accounting including validation of direct and indirect labor and all materials charged to project
    • Possesses a thorough understanding of our service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction
  • 15% Responsible for the monitoring, maintaining milestone dates, actualizing project milestones, in the legacy systems, reconciling, revenue recognition milestones and tasks, ensuring Project completion per the terms and conditions of the projects statement/scope of work and master purchase agreement
  • 15% Responsible for the overseeing of project costs, including, material, inventories

 

Prerequisites

  • Experience: Project Management Skills with 2-5 years Project Management experience
    • Specialized Knowledge and Skills must have:

    • Issue Management skills and experience
    • Change Management skills and experience
    • Great Customer relation skills  
    • Certifications: PMP
  • Language Skills: Highly developed communication skills; The ability to interact effectively with people across the enterprise and within customer organizations to accomplish assigned tasks; the ability to build and motivate multifunctional project teams
  • Mathematical Skills: No specific skill required; basic mathematics and logic are necessary.
  • Reasoning Skills: Must take initiative, be able to work independently, and produce measurable results that positively impact the project baselines; the ability to collect and filter relevant data valid for decision-making in a dynamic environment, and to integrate individual demands, requirements, and limitations into decisions that benefit the overall project
  • Computer and/or Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge and ability to use the software required, specifically Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).  Experienced in planning, staffing, and project control. Experience utilizing Microsoft Project.

  

Work Environment and Physical Demands -

  • General Work Environment: Office Setting
  • Noise: Low noise level.
  • Standing/Lifting: Occasional standing.  Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
  • Visual: Prolonged periods of computer work on an LCD monitor required.
  • Stress: Moderate stress level.
  • Travel: Moderate travel up to 50%
  • Education: BE, BS or BA (or equivalent) within a technical or business field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for principal state of employment.
  • Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
