Summary -

NEC is looking for a hands-on Java Software Development Manger to analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in enterprise or end-user applications, such as traveler management, guest management, biometrics capture, or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Provides in-depth technical trainings to internal engineering teams. May interact with government and enterprise customers to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. May provide technical guidance to less experienced software engineers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Responsible for the overall software development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects
  • Work with the stakeholders in developing a strategy and roadmap to provide compelling capabilities of the software solution
  • Work closely with the solution architect and business analyst to develop the best technical design and approach for new product/project development
  • Instill the best practices for software development and documentation, and deliver high-quality work in time.
  • Management and development of direct reports


Prerequisites -


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,  Electrical Engineering or related field is required. Masters degree is preferred.


6+ years in software engineering is preferred. Top talents with less working experience is also welcome.

Certifications, Licenses, etc:

Fluent in programming languages and related certifications from Microsoft, Sun, Oracle is preferred.



Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

Language Skills:

Well spoken and written communication in English.

Mathematical Skills:

College level skill is required.

Reasoning Skills:

Very good reasoning, problem solving, and innovation skills required.

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

  • 6+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering team
  • Deeps hands-on technical expertise in web technologies and/or Windows desktop application
  • Fluent on the programming language like Java, C#
  • Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, performance optimizations
  • Strong experience with writing SQL in relational database like MySQL, Oracle, etc
  • Experience in networking configuration & troubleshooting
  • Experience in facing customers directly
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum or working in highly dynamic and changing environment.
