Position Overview

 

NEC Corporation of America (NEC) is seeking a dynamic, tech-savvy briefing program manager who can run day-to-day operations of our Customer Experience Center (CEC) at our headquarters in Irving, Texas.  The Briefing Program and Technical Manager will plan, manage, run, and engage with customers, partners and prospects in briefings. The successful candidate will also demo technology and provide CEC first-level systems administration support including hardware/software, installation, troubleshoot, maintenance, and operation of Windows/Android/macOS/iOS.  The candidate should be able to lead discussions, present, run demos, facilitate, as well as manage the technology.  Experience using and troubleshooting biometrics and facial recognition technology is a plus. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Lead the NEC Customer Experience Center & Executive Briefing Center, Irving, Texas
  • Day to day management (operations, logistics, A/V, technical support, briefing preparations) responsibilities including overseeing and maintaining responsibility for the CEC and EBC facility, including operating infrastructure, customer-focused logistics, and relationships with external and internal vendors (catering, building maintenance and real estate & construction as needed). 
  • Development of policies, procedures, documentation and initiatives that maximize the effectiveness and utilization of the CEC facility.  
  • Marketing of the briefing program internally and externally to NEC direct sellers and channel sales network
  • Aligning the EBC mission with overall NEC marketing strategies
  • Supporting sales objectives by providing a professional and center-of-excellence product demonstration and meeting environment in which to conduct sales 
  • Defining annual operating budget requirements
  • Interfacing and collaborating with Corporate and Marketing Communications team, Senior Management, Sales and Product Management, and External Agencies and Vendors, as required ensuring successful briefing events.
  • Ensure all technology in the CEC is running, current and managed properly 
  • Compile, analyze and manage reporting of all significant metrics for all CEC events, including usage statistics and trends, internal and external customer feedback, and effectively communicate CEC’s role in closing sales 
  • Lead Customer/Partner/ Dealer Meeting opportunities, work with Corporate Marketing & Communications team to develop and deliver customer presentations and otherwise execute/participate in Briefings as needed

 

Customer Events Marketing (Nice to have; not required)

  • Manage customer events programs, including single and multi-account briefings
  • Participate in the development and execute event strategy and implementation, budget development and tracking, contract definition, graphics and booth concepts, messaging strategies attendee strategies, and additional lead generation/sales support activities.
  • Manage workflow and priorities of assignments to ensure activities and assigned events are handled in a systematic manner and implemented within budget constraints 
  • Work with and if necessary supervise project teams to ensure successful event results in regards to event strategy and implementation, budget development and tracking, contract definition, messaging strategies, additional lead generation/sales support activities.

 

Prerequisites (Required)

  • Education:   BS in Marketing and/or relevant technology education with marketing experience, 
  • Experience:  Minimum 8-10 years in marketing and communications, IT, security or network technology industry. Experience with mid-level management experience; EBC management and events marketing and product marketing experience covering a broad range of current and emerging AI, biometrics and IT technologies as well as enterprise and SMB solutions; strong budget management skills
  • Certifications, Licenses, etc:  Previous EBC experience and affiliation with the Association of Briefing Program Managers (ABPM) is a plus

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Language Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication; English required, Spanish is a plus; Excellent and effective interpersonal skills (all levels);  Presentation/Facilitation/Demo/Public Speaking skills; Diplomacy - Effectively handles difficult, potentially confrontational issues; diffuses conflict and/or resolves problem situations.
  • Mathematical Skills:   Excel spreadsheet/budgeting working knowledge
  • Computer and/or Technical Skills:   Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook primarily) in Windows 10 / Office 365 environment
  • Ability to operate and demo sophisticated IT, A/V and network technology and business solution demonstrations 
  • Provides systems administration support including hardware/software, installation, troubleshoot, maintenance, and operation of Windows/Android/macOS/iOS.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues
  • Creating and maintaining documentation
     

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • General Work Environment: Office/Desk
  • Noise:   None required.
  • Standing/Lifting:    Standing required to lead tours of CEC; Some light moving of equipment (up to 40 lbs)
  • Stress:    Moderate. Managing deadlines are a part of this role.
  • Travel:    Moderate (up to 25%)
