Summary -

This position performs a variety of tasks which involve assisting the Manager in the daily operations such as assigned and monitors the daily workflow and ensures the quality in the department. This position also assists with employee training as required. Responsible for timely inventory and cycle count. In depth knowledge of all departmental equipment and job knowledge of all areas within the department. Good working knowledge of the PC operational system and its functionality. Demonstrate good leadership, problem solving and communication skills. This individual will coordinate and expedite work assignments with various distribution center departments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • 20% Ensure the workflow and quality throughout the day assign by the Department Manager.

  • 15% Monitor the daily cycle count and orders for domestic/international customers to processed on time to meet their demands.

  • 10% Monitor the flow of inventory released from Quality department. Verify stock locations for the process of the customer orders. Perform inventory location audits to be sure of accuracy and integrity. Pull the customer orders and job orders for domestic and international vendors.

  • 30% Perform Material handler functions to include stocking, restocking, picking, and data entry and cycle count when necessary to ensure the efficient workflow.

  • 5% Training the new / temporary employees on a routine basis including observing employee behaviors and equipment operations and report to manager of the unsafe/unproductive conditions.

  • 5% Monitor and reports work progress in the department to the manager and recommend suggestions for improvement.

  • 5% Ensure organized clean and safe working environment by removing waste and unusable packing materials and properly disposing of the same. Processing all of the recyclable material.

  • 5% Assumes the responsibilities of department in the absence of the manager. 

  • 5% Perform all other duties as required.


Prerequisites -

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Four to five years warehouse stocking, order pulling, receiving, inventory control with machine operations such as forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker. Material handling experience required.

  • Certifications, Licenses, etc: Lift truck certificate is a plus.


Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Mathematical Skills: Skilled in math applications at a high school grade level.

  • Reasoning Skills: Oriented with the ability to solve some problems. Have the ability to work effectively within a team, as well as work effectively alone when required. Available for overtime when needed. Able to research, recommend and implement ideas/projects to improve departmental efficiency

  • quality, and organization.

  • Computer and/or Technical Skills: Good working knowledge of the PC operational system and its functionality. SAP.


Work Environment and Physical Demands -

  • General Work Environment: Warehouse environment. Climate Controlled Distribution Center with Vending Machine break room.

  • Noise: High noise level.

  • Standing/Lifting: 90%, standing required. Move, stack and lift material up to 80 lbs. manually. Heavier material is moved with material handling equipment.

  • Visual: Good or corrected eyesight is required.

  • Stress: Some stress may occur during busy periods.

  • Travel: None required.

  • Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
