Software Support Engineer Associate - Entry Level

The Associate Software Support Engineer will analyzes software issues and provides technical resolutions to Japanese customers such as field engineers, system engineers, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex computer systems with software products. Develop and Maintain physical and virtual testing environments. Design and develop an internal application to use in US and Japan.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • 70% Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues of software products.

  • 20% Design, develop and maintain internal/external systems.

  • 10% Other tasks:

  • Lead and contribute to team discussions such as support review meetings, etc.

  • Assist with bug investigation or build a reproducible case.

  • Help the Japanese team in setting up test environment, resolving build issues etc.



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT majors.

  • Experience: Experience in technical support, development or quality assurance is a plus.

  • Certifications, Licenses, etc: Oracle OCA/OCP, AWS, AZURE related certifications are plus.


Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese is essential and Proficient in English is essential to support clients in Japan

  • Mathematical Skills: Basic Math

  • Reasoning Skills: Excellent Communication. Customer service skills.

  • Computer and/or Technical Skills: Must have basic computer-related Trouble Shooting skills.

  • Ability to work on routine technical problems interfacing directly with customers.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and corresponding software architecture quickly.

  • The following hands-on experience and knowledge are a plus:

    • ORACLE Database as DBA and SQL programming.

    • UNIX, Linux and Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.

    • Python, Go, Ruby, SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC and Web programming with RDBMS.


Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • General Work Environment: Physical ability to operate in an office environment is essential. 

  • Ability to work on holidays is essential. 

  • Ability to work at home environment with virtual team work environment is essential. 

  • A physical LAN port is required for office phone which will be provided.

  • Noise: Quiet office environment. Quiet home office environment is required.

  • Standing/Lifting:  Upto 20 lbs

  • Visual: Use the computer monitors most of the time.

  • Stress: Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Travel: Occasional travel to Japan may be required.

  • Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
