Summary -

This is an entry-level IT Systems Administrator position. We are looking for someone that wants to build a successful IT career. This position will be part of an highly experienced and unbelievably  talented IT team that supports our Company’s IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting a wide range of IT tasks that span from our data center, to our campus, to our networks, all the way out to our remote workers. You will work with desktops, laptops, networking gear, physical servers, virtual servers, security software, security audit fixes, various NEC groups, and our technology vendors. This position requires someone that is determined and dedicated to building an IT career. You will need to be a great student/learner, a great self-starter, be well organized, and be able to follow through on your tasks. You will need to be comfortable asking questions and doing research on issues. You will be required to periodically work in the office. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

35% Responds to security alerts, system alerts, monitor alerts. Troubleshoots, and resolves basic data center issues.

35% Responds to requests from internal users; investigates with assistance from others as needed; analyzes possible solutions.

20% Installs, maintains, or updates system hardware, operating systems, applications, drivers, firmware.

5% Evaluates new software releases, patches, and third-party products.

5% Maintains server environment documentation (Operation Guides, Installation Forms, Decommission Forms, Inventory Lists, etc.).

 

Prerequisites -

Education: College degree in an IT related discipline, or equivalent. Training or experience in computers and/or networks is a big plus.  

Experience: Interest in learning all aspects of corporate IT activities. Interest in an IT related career. Experience with Windows and Linux based systems a plus.

Certifications, Licenses, etc: IT related certificates a plus.

Language Skills: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills: Must be skilled in basic math.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Must be self-motivated with strong attention to details.

  • Must have a strong team-player attitude.

  • Must have a professional demeanor.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

  • Interest in an IT related career.

  • Interest in learning Information Security. 

  • Interest in learning IT Operations.

  • Interest in learning Linux support.


Work Environment and Physical Demands -

General Work Environment: Primarily remote work. Requires in-office work at least twice per month. May also require visits to data center.

Noise: Moderate noise. Up to 30% of time spent in a computer room with elevated noise levels.

Standing/Lifting: Must be able to lift and install computer hardware weighing up to 50 lbs.

Visual: Must be able to read small text accurately. Must be able to focus on small, close objects.

Stress: Some stress may occur as workloads increase and schedules come due.

Travel: Minimal (less than 5%).
Supervisory Responsibility, if any: Not applicable.

 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $74,500; depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
