Summary - |
In this critical role, the Principal SW Architect will work with senior leadership, Product Management, and globally distributed Engineering teams to define and implement NECAM’s next generation platform and services. The Principal SW Architect will set the architectural strategy for a cloud-based platform consisting of light weight services that enable innovative market specific biometric solutions to be created for Aviation, Law Enforcement, Customer Experience, and National Security. This role will require collaboration with North American and global engineering teams. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - |
50% Define and drive the architectural vision for a next generation biometrics management platform that enables flexibility, accelerates solution development, and lowers deployment cost and complexity
25% Maintains and enhances technology expertise, keeping current cloud, infrastructure, tools, etc.
25% Collaborate on decisions, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills Provide governance and consulting on architecture to all software development teams

Prerequisites - |

Education: |
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent |
|
Experience: |
Requires 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 as a Architect. Must have experience successfully refactoring monolith on-premise applications to public cloud, balancing the ‘text book’ solution against ROI and customer value. Expert in cloud agnostic OpenSource frameworks and Azure managed services. Must have experience in scalability, failover, high availability, capacity planning, security, and compliance. |
