Summary -

Responsible for controlling software releases and configurations, to ensure complete builds are provided to internal team members for deployment.  This position coordinates the transition from software developers to systems implementation teams, by overseeing and executing release management processes. Ensure QMS process, CCB Mechanisms followed as directed. Integrate Lessons learned conclusions with Process updates thru CCB and faciliate audits.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

• Responsible for Configuration Management and Release Management.
• Collaborate with Dev/QA/Systems Engineering team members to ensure right builds are
deployed to target environments without issues.
• Develop process/tools to minimize the deployment times and eliminate manual errors.
• Develop tools/scripts to automate deployments and smoke tests.
• Research and innovate new deployment strategies to implement CI/CD.

Introduce/Implement project profiles on build servers for components using tools like Jenkins/VSTS/MSBuild/WixToolset.
• Generate builds and corresponding releases on TFS/Docker or other compatible tools for all the components.

• Develop tools/scripts to enable Auto deployment of component builds using tools like PowerShell/Unix/JavaScript/Python.
• Leverage AKS/Kubernetes/Ansible/Chef/Puppet like tools to perform Release Management & configuration management (SCM) activities for all the environments.
• Implement solutions on Cloud based infrastructure like Azure or AWS. Develop scripts using MSSQL / MySQL / Oracle and others.
• Development of CI/CD pipeline automation using tools like GitHub / Flyway / Jenkins / Selenium / SoapUI / Ansible / Octopus Deploy / Kubernetes / Artifactory / Azure / Nagios / Ganglia.

 

Prerequisites -

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.

Experience:

Six plus years of software engineering experience, six years experience handling multiple software projects simultaneously with J2EE or MS.NET applications, and six years experience working with a structured software methodology and software test experience. Experience in designing, implementing, releasing, and after-market support of commercial software projects release/configuration infrastructure. Experience leading and coordinating a small team. Direct experience creating CI/CD pipeline of components to On-Premise/cloud deployments.

Certifications, Licenses, etc:

Azure DevOps, Java or .Net Technologies certification is desirable.

     

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

 

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

Strong computer programming skills using software development tools (compilers, debuggers, emulators, simulators) with a background in device driver and file system development.  Demonstrate proficiency in one or more programming languages and in devops area of setup and installation of different tools/softwares.
