Summary -

NEC has a fantastic new opportunity for a dynamic technical leader to oversee DevOps, Cloud and SaaS delivery.  If you have extensive, recent technical experience running Azure/AWS cloud services and managing cloud DevOps delivery teams, this may be a great role for you.


In this newly created role, the Director will be responsible for domestic and global solution and services delivery for government and enterprise markets.  This role requires a strong leader who has prior experience and a track record in setting up DevOps practices, managing DevOps teams to deliver customized solutions, and SaaS services on cloud and on-premises environments.

This position requires extensive management experience overseeing AWS, Azure, OpenShift and on-premises infrastructures and platforms. This Director level role is responsible for the leadership of multidisciplinary teams in DevOps.  You should also have experience overseeing networks with pre-sales and sales teams in estimating delivery costs, promoting cloud solution delivery and operational support across multiple customer segments, to include State & Local Law Enforcement, US Federal Government, Customer Experience, Aviation, and corresponding verticals in both domestic and international markets.


This is a key role within the organization, providing tremendous impact to customer satisfaction and growth.  Soft skills including the ability to develop relationships with customers, work with other department heads, and mentor their staff are also key to success. 


A cross-functional matrix organization is provided and requires the Director to manage a broad portfolio of cloud engagements across multiple verticals (both domestically and abroad).

The Director position requires strong analytical skills and effective change management to ensure planning and execution meet the organization’s objectives. Excellent presentation abilities will aid the Director in keeping clients and executive management informed of current and future activities.  The successful candidate will be comfortable in presenting to groups, including customer and internal executives.  Sharing and expressing their vision and strategies for delivery and implementation with sales and marketing efforts is a part of the Director’s inter-department responsibilities.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

40%  Directs activities of multiple technical teams in the implementation and support of SaaS identity/biometrics systems.


15%  Delivers quality solutions that exceed customer expectations in their function, use, and support.


15%  Manages financials to ensure the team's SaaS revenue and gross profits are met.


5%  Creates and executes strategic and innovcation plans for implementation, support, and the creation of efficiencies.


5%  Gathers, analyzes, and acts upon performance metrics to provide continual process improvement.


5%  Collaborates with project & product management, research and development, and other teams to create solutions and validate early product requirements.


5%  Directs resource allocation across multiple project teams and efforts.


5%  Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.



Prerequisites -


Bachelor’s degree in technology related field required; advanced degree desirable.


12-15 years related experience with 6 or more years of progressive leadership experience with budget responsibility.  Five or more years experience in a DevOps leadership role.

Communication Skills:

Highly developed communication skills: the ability to interact effectively with people across the enterprise and within customer organizations to accomplish assigned tasks; the ability to build and motivate multifunctional project teams

Must take initiative, be able to work independently, and produce measurable results that positively impact the portfolio baselines; the ability to collect and filter relevant data valid for decision-making in a dynamic environment, and to integrate individual demands, requirements, and limitations into decisions that benefit the overall organization


Mathematical Skills:

Requires fundamental accounting skills to manage departmental and project budgets.

Reasoning Skills:

Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

Expertise in delivering SaaS services on AWS, Azure, and on-premise systms.  Experience in identity management or biometrics is a significant benefit.  Experience in scalability, failover, high availability, capacity planning, security, and compliance.  Experience in project management, delivery cost estimation and monitoring and managing cloud cost

This Director position leads a diverse, cross functional team.  A combination of direct reports includes individual contributors and managers of larger sub-teams.  Reports are both locally and in remote locations.  Functions overseen include: Cloud Architecture and Engineering, Integration & Automation Testing, Security Testing, Configuration and Release Management, and Deployment and Maintenance.
