This position is responsible for overall technical design and implementation of Data warehouse solutions including Informatica, Data Warehouse semantic model and other BI/DWH technology platforms and delivery strategies.

The position requires a broad understanding and knowledge of the business and technical challenges associated with BI/DW (Data Stage) engagements. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to assess client environments, make recommendations, modeling, use of methodologies, roadmap plan.
  • Ability to work with all levels of team, business and technical.
  • Find best way to build environment, cubes DW, reports, stage data.
  • Business Requirements gathering.
  • Documenting requirements and creating design deliverables.
  • Suggest Informatica Design and Development Best practices for the implementation.
  • Support effective and efficient business processes in partnership with other software and reporting development teams.
  • Work in a delivery environment, presales activities, including customer presentations, proposal development.
  • Addresses customer inquiries, applications and services issues, as they arise.
  • Responsible for providing feedback to Delivery Management.
  • Responsible for deliverable project quality.
  • Manage the oversight function of delivery including:
    • Works as a project lead to integrate various aspects of the project team.
    • Provides clear schedule and plans.
    •  Works with client to clearly define scope.
    • Takes actions needed to remain on plan.
    • With operations team, oversees project to ensure that deliverables either meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Takes early corrective action.
    • Identifies potential risks.
    • Prioritizes risks for actions.
    • Develops plans to prevent/mitigate process issues.
    • Effectively communicates.


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and solve problems
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities
  • Ability to develop technical plans and customer proposals, as well as, conduct modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites.
  • Ability to read, interpret and correctly operate from instructions and specifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with other employees, engineers, customers, vendors, management and executives
  • Ability to work trade shows
  • Ability to travel for business up to 75% of the time.



  • Collaborate with Data Architect, and DBAs to understand business requirements, and data to:
    • Develop detailed ETL design to populate Data Warehouse, Data Mart tables and hand over the design to ETL developers to code
  • Experience using Data Stage with additional experience/exposure to Data Stage, Infosphere Governance tools
    • Establish, maintain and enforce ETL architecture design principles, techniques, standards and best practices
    • Drive the technical design of ETL architecture to ensure high data quality, data integration performance and error recovery/handling
    •  Optimize ETL performance
  •  Lead team of senior, mid-level and junior ETL developers of varying experience levels in building and supporting ETL processes.
  • Participate in ETL coding and produce better ETL code faster than a proficient ETL developer can.
  • Provide hands-on support for production ETL processes.
  • 2+ years of experience in overall architecture, design and implementation of a high-performance, scalable data integration solution using the entire Informatica product suite.
  • Lead Informatica developers using PowerCenter v9.x to build a data warehouse that extracts and integrates large amounts of data from multiple XML, relational and flat file sources. 


Prerequisites (Education, Specialized Knowledge and Skills, Certifications, Licenses, etc.)

  • Maintain technical skills at a level commensurate with a BI consultant in the industry, keeping abreast of new technologies and methods.
  • Prefer someone with Informatica /DW certifications.
  • Should have the ability to clearly communicate verbally, and through written text/presentations.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage.
  • Must be able to extensively travel in the US.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field. Experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in overall architecture, design and implementation of a high-performance, scalable data integration solution
  • Experience leading a team and interacting with client users.
