Summary -

 

NEC is excited to announce the search for a qualified candidate to fill a newly created inside sales position for our state and local government vertical.  This is an opportunity to sell NEC’s unique biometrics products and services into an untapped market within NEC’s core states.  The position will prospectively call into a defined set of local law enforcement agencies to identify and sell NEC’s Smartscan and NeoScan finger and palm print capture devices.  NEC has 17 states that utilize our flagship AFIS Finger and Palm Print “Integra ID” solution, and these products are an extension of Integra ID.   The position will provide the opportunity take on many levels of responsibility and interaction with all departments within the organization.  This is a quota carrying, home-based position, which will require an organized, energetic, and ambitious individual who is ready to start their professional career in a very lucrative opportunity with a highly respected global technology company.  The inside salesperson will report to and work closely with the Director of sales in the state and local government practice.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

 

  • Prospectively calling into Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA’s) in NEC core states to discover and drive new sales opportunities towards contract closing.
  • Educating prospective customers on NEC products and benefits to differentiate and drive towards closing.
  • Coordinating virtual presentations / demonstrations of products
  • Coordinating specialized marketing campaigns with the NEC ARS marketing team and territory Salespeople
  • Exploring and uncovering new opportunities while prospecting
  • Discovering and providing agency technical as well as professional services related information in order to ensure a successful implementation.
  • Collecting agency information in order to build a “BOM” - Bill of Materials
  • Coordinating, providing, and reviewing budgetary proposals with decision makers
  • Understanding and documenting the LEA’s budgeting and procurement process
  • Responding to potential RFP’s and RFI’s
  • Work with NEC professional services and implementation teams to ensure the successful delivery and go live of the projects.
  • Working via Salesforce to document, manage, report on outreach and sales opportunities progress through the lifecycle of the sale

 

 

Prerequisites –

Education:  4-year degree from accredited college or university

Experience: 3 or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Honest, reliable, pro-active, organized, professional, coachable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Has a consistent work history and demonstrable work ethic

 

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands –

  • Remote – Working from home
  • Quiet – Organized work area
  • Desk, Internet, Work Chair
  • Travel is not required – however attending in person meetings and industry related conferences may occur throughout the year
  • Working unique hours throughout the week (from 8-8 EST) in order to call on LEA’s from eastern to the western US, Alaska and Hawaii
