Summary -

NEC is significantly adding to our DevOps team.

One of the new roles includes managing a team of quality assurance engineers through the process of the project SDLC.

The manager will offer guidance for testing strategies for future projects during the planning phase as well as provide measurable results for future estimations of testing efforts. This team will have a wide scope of responsibility and it will be under the direct guidance of this  Manager to assign resources based on experience and skill sets as needed to the Project Management Office for project assistance.


The QA team focuses on software configuration/change management issues associated with product releases in a cloud environment.  This includes systems and release planning, estimating, execution, implementation and ongoing support.  This team works closely with Development and Project Managers to define and implement procedures for releasing products throughout the product life cycle. This team must understand and further develop applied concepts and processes as it relates to the software development lifecycle.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

20% Manage Resource allocation for Quality Assurance Testing team. Weekly status reports to management as well as updated resource planning.


20% Engage PMO projects to assist in estimations for quality assurance tasks as they relate to specific project plans.


10% Provides strategic, expert advice and consultation on the design and implementation of effective administrative and business processes across the organization, to include process analysis, redesign, reengineering, and organizational effectiveness.


10% Develops documentation for software releases and distribution, system configuration, administration and troubleshooting.


5% Communicates regularly with executive management and administration regarding the status of current Software Releases; obtains executive guidance and approval as required to advance initiatives.


15% Responsible for timely software delivery and quality of code to the customer, while showing high level of professionalism in dealing with internal and external team members, contributing to organization initiatives and communication issues and concerns to management.


5% Takes initiative to look for new ways to improve processes, products and services in your area or in other areas of the company, including ways to broaden and improve your current position.


5% All other duties or responsibilities assigned as needed in order to make the company a success.


Prerequisites -


BE, BS or BA (or equivalent) is required within a technical or business field


Five years experience with Software Testing.  Two (2) plus years experience with managing resources.

Certifications, Licenses, etc:

CSQE a plus.

Hands on, detailed oriented and have ability to provide appropriate solutions to problems and quickly adapt to changes and new ideas.  Ability to analyze complex problems, to interpret operational needs, and to develop integrated, creative solutions.  Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.  The incumbent could learn the job basics within 6 months.
